Strong-minded women

Having written books that feature strong-minded women perhaps I should say how I feel about them.

Many women in history have shown admirable qualities of strength and resilience, necessary in those times when women were subjugated by men if they were to stand out from the crowd. Across the world, women had opinions and talents which were not listened to or taken seriously. They rarely had money or property they could call their own but fortunately, there were a few who broke the bonds. Artists and poets, scientists and fighters, there were many. And although they were often seconded and encouraged by a man, few can say they have succeeded alone: we all need support from of each other.

Likewise, there were often strong women behind the success/happiness/ achievement of a man, and of course, they weren’t all famous.

So why not be a strong woman in your own right? Your opinions are worth listening to and your strength will make you healthy. Your children and your families will benefit from your confidence. Be strong!
