Writing a Book

How do you write a book? I have been asked this and the answer is hard to define. The stumbling block for most people appears to be the dedication of time, but I believe we all have our special talents when it comes to priorities. For instance, I have found it impossible to pick a drawer or choose a cupboard with the sole purpose of reducing the contents, and so, apart from cleaning it, it is almost all neatly returned. Likewise, I vow to clean a room from top to bottom, and somehow, it just doesn’t get finished: my concentration, my will to carry on starts to flag. I know that this is not the same for everyone, so why not congratulate yourself for being able to complete the things that you do, even if it’s not writing a novel.
